Cluster & zoviet*france: Big Water
Yesterday I went to a gig in a swimming pool with a special underwater mix - something I may never get to do again! There were loads of people in the pool, including a little toddler who threw a balloon off me and laughed as I swum about. I did a few lengths while the DJ played Ashra and Klaus Schulze etc. This was playing when I went in:
Rodelius was tinkling away on his synth above us and looking very happy indeed. Lots of people were retreating to the seats. Three hours is a long time to be in a swimming pool. The only beef I had was with the lighting, it would've been even better in dim light but I guess they had to keep the lights on for security and possible drowning reasons.
I highly recommend going to gigs with a separate underwater mix if you ever get the chance. Massive 'well done' to the AV10 people for making something that unique happen!

Pretty jealous. Pretty, pretty, pretty jealous. Sounds like a potential candidate for "best thing to have ever happened". You northerners get all the luck.
Your last sentence there has to be sarcastic right? This sort of stuff makes up for all the things you Londoners are getting ALL THE TIME :)
I like how no-fi seem to be booking tours now cos that pretty much guarantees a Newcastle date where there might not have been one previously.
Got any exciting new releases coming out?
yeah, just a flippant remark (the best kind), although in fairness i'm not aware of any swimming pool shows (gooduns) in london.
yeah no-fi are good guys. watch out for stellar om source, they're booking a may/june tour for her at the moment.
new releases wise, the answer is yes, but am holding off on that front until summer. should be involving deep magic/waterside gala/gnod/datashock/lanterns and maybs so others, maybs.
All about the flippancy right here! I swear I remember reading about Birds of Delay playing in a swimming pool a few years ago. I don't think it actually had any water in it though.
Good news about the stuff, tapes? The myspaces of the people I didn't know sound awesome. And dare I say it a bit summery anyway? Look forward to it!
Nurse with Wound played in Hackney Lido in 2008. That was rad. An acquaintance of mine organises these underwater shows, he's done loads. Check it out:

Fans of this may be interested in new release from Weird Ribs.
It's called Heavy Arms, and is a mix of ambient, electronic, psyche and drone.
Think Black Dice, Tim Hecker, Growing, Emeralds, Tangerine Dream.
